The City of Enderby is seeking a motivated and reliable person to join its Parks team. The successful candidate will join a small team of skilled and dedicated individuals who take great pride in maintaining parks and recreation facilities in the City of Enderby. This is a new position driven by department growth.
From ball diamonds to an ice arena to a pool to several mid-sized parks, this position is best suited to a person with a strong attention to detail, excellent customer service and communication skills, the ability to learn new things and implement procedures with quality and consistency under limited supervision, and the ability to work a flexible shift schedule with a concentration on evenings and weekends. The position offers a 30-hour work week with the potential for additional hours based on user group and facility needs.

Requirements and Preferred Skills/Experience
- Work in a professional and safe manner at all times.
- Strong customer service and teamwork values.
- Perform physical labour, including lifting, shovelling, and climbing, occasionally in confined spaces and at heights.
- Working knowledge of standard office and communication software applications.
- Excellent problem-solving and multi-tasking abilities, including an attention to detail while applying practical and technical skills in the field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to learn new things, including operating a public pool and an ice refrigeration plant in accordance with technical and safety regulations and requirements.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends.
- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- A Class 5 BC Driver’s License and ability to obtain and maintain a clean driving record.
- Must provide and maintain an acceptable Police Information Check.
- WHMIS and Basic First Aid.
- Pool Operator 1 certification is preferred (must be obtained within 6 months of start date).
- Ice Facility Operator certification is preferred. The successful candidate must obtain their Refrigeration Operator certification prior to September 1, 2026.
