Corrie Epp received a Civic Appreciation Award from Enderby City Council for her tireless efforts on behalf of the Enderby and District Food Bank and her dedication to food security in our community.
As a result of her vision and efforts championing food accessibility along with her teammates at the Food Bank, more than 100 families received donations of food and necessities this month, and thousands of others since she started her work with the Food Bank.
In addition, Corrie is a fierce advocate for the people she works with as she says “Being the President of the food bank, it really is all about the other people. All the volunteers we have are amazing. Enderby is such a generous community. When COVID-19 threw a spanner in the works; the community came together even stronger. The Enderby Chamber helped with deliveries, Charlene William from Splatsin helped so much. But I really do have to mention Bonnie Hardy, our Volunteer Coordinator, who makes everything run,” she states with appreciation.
Corrie and her husband feel lucky to live in Enderby and say it was serendipity that brought them here. “It is such a special place, which is so evident with the success of the food bank”.
