That Enderby was named after a rhyming couplet, “What danger lowers by land or sea? / They ring the tune of Enderby” from Jean Ingelow’s poem, “High Tide on the Coast of Lincolnshire” after residents witnessed the raging waters of the Shuswap River during spring run-off?
