Enderby City Hall reopens on Monday, May 25, 2020 for its regular hours of operation.
We are working hard to make sure that City Hall is a safe place for workers and the public. These changes promote physical distancing and provide enhanced sanitation.
Some of these changes may mean that it takes longer to be served. We ask for your patience and understanding as we work hard to implement our Safe Operations Plan.
Things may look a bit different than before. Changes that you can expect to see include:
- Traffic flow through City Hall will now be one-way.
- Please enter through the upper doors and exit through the lower doors.
- Follow the arrow signs to help you find your way.
- Floor markings indicate where to stand in line so that you can maintain a respectful distance from others.
- Additional sanitation stations are provided for the safety and convenience of staff and the public.
- Occupancy limits will be posted in public spaces.
- If a person living with physical or cognitive difficulties requires an attendant, they will be counted as a single person for the purposes of occupancy.
- Only one financial transaction at a time will occur at the front counter, in a designated spot behind a plexiglass barrier. Inquiries and permits will occur in a designated section of the counter off to the side.
- A contactless dropbox will be located at the front counter so that you can quickly drop your homeowner grant and/or property tax payment in an envelope and place it in the box.
- Access controls are in place in accordance with WorksafeBC guidelines. Do not enter City Hall if any of the below apply. Instead, call or email us and we would be happy to provide you with an alternate service solution if:
- You have had symptoms of COVID-19 in the last 10 days, such as fever, chills, new or worsening cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, new muscle aches or headaches.
- You have been directed by Public Health or a health officer to self-isolate.
- You have arrived from outside Canada or have had contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case, are are required to self-isolate for 14 days and monitor for symptoms.
- New policies are in place with respect to employee sickness and symptoms.
Behind-the-scenes, other things have changed too. Additional sanitation is occurring and enhanced hygiene practices have been implemented. We are holding office meetings outside or off-site when practical.
Wait times are anticipated to be longer than normal due to enhanced safety. We are pleased to provide a variety of options to conduct business remotely – from email and telephone through to online utility and tax payments to online homeowner grant claims. It is easier than ever to do business remotely! Look for more information on these options on our website soon.
We thank you for your patience and understanding as we find our “new normal” and work hard to create a safe and sanitary space for you.
