Enderby is excited to share some beautiful photos of the newly installed raised stone planters at Veterans Park! While there is still some finishing work to be done around the site, the City couldn’t wait to showcase this stunning addition to this special community space.
Veterans Park holds a significant place in the community as a tribute to local veterans. When the boxwoods that once lined the pathways to the Cenotaph succumbed to climate stress, a decision was made to replace them with something that would stand resolute, for generations to come. These new stone planters complement the existing stone pillars and create a beautiful entrance to the monument.
This project was made possible thanks to funding from Enderby Council’s Community Enhancement Fund, which uses profits from the Riverside RV Park to create or enhance some of the most special places in the City.
The City is incredibly grateful for the support of local businesses, including Eternal Stone Works, Baird Bros., and Backus Services, who went above and beyond generously contributing their time and resources to this project. A special thank you also goes out to Grounds Guys Okanagan for their vision and assistance in developing the concept, and for adding the finishing touches with irrigation and flowers!
