Enderby has won the inaugural ParticipACTION Community Better Challenge and has been crowned Canada’s Most Active Community!
The Community Better Challenge is aimed at promoting physical activity through the online tracking of activity minutes. Sheryl Hay and Kaylee Wells of Enderby & District Recreation Services spearheaded Enderby’s participation in the challenge and rallied the community to track their physical activity and ultimately help Enderby bring home the title of Canada’s Most Active Community, along with the grand prize of $150,000!
“This process has been amazing and we are so inspired by the community spirit that was on display. The community provided each other with so much support and encouragement throughout the process, it was really cool to see,” explains Sheryl Hay of Recreation Services.
“Sheryl and Kaylee did an outstanding job at rallying the troops to help bring home the title. I’m so proud of our community, and the honour of being Canada’s Most Active Community is really a testament to the passion of our residents,” explains Mayor Greg McCune.
