The City of Enderby is seeking to hire one (1) Parks and Recreation / Public Works Integrated Worker. The successful candidate will initially work primarily in Parks and Recreation, but will be cross-trained in Public Works duties over time.
The preferred candidate will have completed Grade 12 or equivalent and must have Ice Facility Operator (IFO) and Refrigeration Operator (RO) certificates, as well as the successful completion of Pool Operators 1. A valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License is required, with air endorsement preferred. Demonstrated skill in ice making, refrigeration, zamboni operation, public pool maintenance and operations, and grounds maintenance is required.
Excellent customer service skills and the ability to perform physical labour, including at heights and in confined spaces, is required. The successful candidate will be able to work with minimal supervision, be capable of operating equipment associated with the position, possess strong critical and analytical thinking abilities, strong organizational and multi-tasking skills, and strong written and verbal communication skills. WHMIS, First Aid, Chlorine Handling, and Confined Space tickets/certificates are required. Public Works experience and heavy equipment operation would be an asset.
As this position may have some on-call duties on a rotational basis as part of Public Works duties, the successful candidate will be required to live near to the community to fulfill those responsibilities. Weekend and evening shifts may be required.
The wage rate is $27.39 per hour plus benefits while working in Parks and Recreation. The wage rate while working in Public Works ranges from $25.00 to $27.39 per hour commensurate with experience. Certification premiums are also paid.
