The City of Enderby [“the City”] is seeking general contracting and coordination services for wildfire fuel management and fire hazard reduction on certain residential properties to be specified by the City. The contractor will be responsible for completing wildfire mitigation activities on eligible residential properties, with the mitigation activities to be pre-approved by the City based on a FireSmart Home Assessment conducted by the City, available budget, and prioritization relative to community wildfire resiliency values and other program objectives; these activities may include the following:
- Removing combustible debris, materials, fences or plants;
- Removing branches, logs and needles, leaves and debris accumulations;
- Replacing (with deciduous) or removing coniferous (evergreen) species;
- Thinning coniferous trees;
- Removing conifer tree branches within 2 metres of the ground; and
- Reducing surface vegetation (long grass, flammable shrubs, etc.).
The City has $98,665.00 (including PST) in grant funding allocated to fund the labour and equipment associated with completing the mitigation activities described above. Please be advised that the City may award one or more contracts for the completion of the aforementioned mitigation activities.
