Situation Report for June 14, 2022 at 15:30

The Emergency Operations Centre continues to monitor and respond to localized flood conditions and encourages residents who may live in flood-prone areas to take measures to protect their property.

The Kildonan Boat Launch is submerged and now closed. The closure of Tuey Park remains in effect.

As of June 14, 2022, at the upstream hydrometric gauge, the Shuswap River water height is 4.66 m (15.35 feet) with a discharge rate of 428 m3/s. 

Mild conditions are forecast throughout today with warmer temperatures for Wednesday afternoon and light rains into the evening. 

Forecast models are predicting a prolonged initial peak of the Shuswap River to occur between June 17 and June 24, 2022, with a peak discharge rate of 525.6 m/s forecast for Friday June 17, 2022. Forecast models are subject to change; additional peaks may occur after this initial peak.

Sand and sandbags are available for free at the Public Works Yard at 2308 McGowan Avenue. Please bring your own shovel. Thank you to those who are helping your neighbours to protect their property, too.
