Situation Report for June 15, 2022 at 15:00

The City of Enderby Emergency Operations Centre is monitoring and responding to localized flood conditions and encourages residents who may live in flood-prone areas to take measures to protect their property.

Closures remain in effect for the Kildonan Boat Launch and Tuey Park.

As of today. June 15, 2022, at the upstream hydrometric gauge, the Shuswap River water height is 4.73 m (15.52 feet) with a discharge rate of 440 m3/s.  In comparison, yesterday, June 14, 2022, the Shuswap River water height was 4.66 m (15.35 feet) with a discharge rate of 428 m3/s

Light rains are forecast for this evening and into tomorrow, with the risk of a thunderstorm tomorrow afternoon.

Forecast models are predicting a initial peak of the Shuswap River discharge rate to occur on Thursday June 16, 2022, with a peak discharge rate of 453.0 m/s. The forecast is subject to change based on weather variables that may change the anticipated timing, intensity, duration, or location of precipitation, which may have a downstream impact.

Sand and sandbags are available for free at the Public Works Yard at 2308 McGowan Street. Please bring your own shovel. Thank you to those who are helping your neighbours to protect their property, too.
