The City of Enderby extends its sympathy to all of those who are affected by the COVID-19 outbreak as well as its sincere appreciation to those who are responding to the emergency at every level.
Provincial health agencies continue to provide a leadership role with respect to the response. The City is establishing its Emergency Operations Centre to liaise with external agencies involved in the pandemic response, coordinate the City’s internal response across departments, and undertake advance planning for response and recovery to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The City of Enderby is making changes to its operations in response to the pandemic and is providing the following information about its services:
Emergency Operations Centre (EOC)
- Activated at Level 1, for the purposes of agency liaison, internal coordination of departments, and advance planning.
- Conditions are being monitored and the EOC will escalate its activity in response to changing circumstances.
Public Works
- Essential services such as water, sewer, drainage, and roads will continue to be provided.
- Public Works has contingency plans to provide for the continuity of essential services.
Fire Department
- Emergency response, including fire and road rescue, will continue to be provided.
- Fire Department has contingency plans to provide for the continuity of emergency services.
City Hall
- Interactions and communications with City Hall are asked to occur via email, mail, telephone, or fax unless it is necessary to enter the premises.
- Written submissions may be dropped through the mail slot beside the front doors.
- Email submissions are accepted at info@cityofenderby.com.
- Telephone communications may be directed to 250-838-7230.
- Fax submissions may be sent to 250-838-6007.
- The regular Council meeting on April 6, 2020 has been cancelled.
Parks and Recreation
- All recreation facilities will be closed until further notice. The closures will be revisited week to week.
- All recreation programming has been cancelled until further notice. The cancellation will be revisited week to week.
- Deposits and program fees associated with recreation services will be refunded or credited.
Visitor Centre
- The Visitor Centre will be closed effective March 18, 2020. The closure will be revisited regularly.
- Occupants of the Visitor Centre, such as Recreation Services and the Chamber of Commerce, will respond via their normal email addresses, telephone numbers (Recreation Services: 250-838-2665; Chamber General Manager: 250-803-3824), or social media channels to inquiries.
- Community groups who book the facility for meetings are asked to discontinue their use of the facility until the closure ends.
Museum
- The Enderby & District Museum and Archives will be closed to the public until further notice.
The City of Enderby encourages all residents to take the necessary precautions as recommended by the BC Centre for Disease Control and the Public Health Officer.
